Abstract
L’articolo, sulla base di fonti d’archivio ottocentesche sia a stampa, sia manoscritte, esamina i ritrovamenti archeologici effettuati tra Ottocento e Novecento nell’area nord-est della città di Oderzo, in particolare in relazione ai mappali relativi all’area dell’ex stadio Comunale e degli edifici di abitazione distribuiti lungo le attuali via Roma, via dei Mosaici e via Savonarola. Contestualmente sono evidenziate alcune discrepanze tra le fonti ottocentesche e alcuni testi archeologici della seconda metà del Novecento che hanno tenuto solo parzialmente conto della documentazione prodotta dagli studiosi ed eruditi della seconda metà dell’Ottocento.
The article, based on both printed and hand-written nineteenth-century archival sources, examines the archaeological finds made between the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries in the North-eastern area of the city of Oderzo, in particular those in relation to maps that include the area of the former municipal stadium and the residential buildings that line today’s Via Roma, Via dei Mosaici, and Via Savonarola. At the same time, certain discrepancies are highlighted between nineteenth-century sources and archaeological texts dating to the second half of the Twentieth century that only partially took into account the documentation produced by scholars and academics of the second half of the Nineteenth century.
