Abstract
Due lettere inedite, una di Giuseppe Carpenè e una di Federico Berchet, documentano ritrovamenti monetali di epoca romana imperiale (II-metà III secolo) a Follina e Tarzo. Essi non sono interpretabili con rinvenimenti in necropoli ma come ripostigli interrati ante 274 (riforma di Aureliano). Forniscono, inoltre, nuove informazioni sulla circolazione monetaria nella X Regio nel periodo compreso tra la fine del II e la metà III secolo d.C., un periodo caratterizzato dalla svalutazione dell’antoniano e da turbative militari proprio verso il limes orientale della X Regio.
Two unpublished letters, one written by Giuseppe Carpenè and the other by Federico Berchet, contain historical references to Roman imperial (2nd/ middle of the 3rd century) coin finds in Follina and Tarzo. They cannot however be considered finds related to necropolis, but rather as hoards that were buried before 274 (and the Aurelian reform). They also provide new insights into monetary circulation in the Regio X between the end of the 2nd and the middle of the 3rd century AD, a period marked by the devaluation of the antoninianus and by military disruptions in the eastern limes of the Regio X.
